 International Pi day

International Pi Day was celebrated on March 14, 2022 in association with Mathema, the Mathematics club of MMTC Vilakudy at 1.45 pm in college Seminar Hall. All the teachers and students actively participated in the celebration. The programme started with cutting cake at 1.59 pm by Ms. Revathi S, Asst. Prof. in Mathematics along with the other teachers and the student representatives. Pi day songs were played during the cake cutting session. Welcome speech delivered by Ms Rincy Kuriyan.

The mandatory pi value memorization was the first programme conducted. The students were given a couple of minutes to memorize the pi value shown on the screen and given time of another couple minutes to write it down on a sheet of paper. Then the anchor of the programme Ms Meenu Jose, had shown an animated video presentation on pi followed by a Quiz session by Ms Jaseena A and Ms Thasleema Shajahan in jovial. The questions were based on the video shown and what we were talking about from the beginning. The fellow audience members actively participated in the same. Meanwhile the pi value checking was going on on the other side. A sudoku was also shown on the screen and given time to the students to complete the same, but unfortunately they couldn’t do the same, so the members of the association decided to check the maximum solved by the students and give the prize accordingly.

Later Ms Jayakumari D, Asst. Prof. in Social Science gave a congratulatory speech. The programme winded with Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Anjali S, Secretary of Mathema followed by the National Anthem.
