Weekly Reflection - 07

This is the seventh week of teaching practice, mostly the second last week of the entire teaching practice. The first day in this week went casually with doing our own work, joined for mid meal serving, engaged in class management, etc. This week we planned to do all the general paper works like sociogram, conscientization, yoga and health, etc. I completed the sociometry survey in IX A class.

We teamed as four for a conscientization programme. Arya, SreehariG and I were in one team and chose “waste management” as a topic. We were invited for the X standard farewell programme the next day. On Tuesday and Wednesday, it was a normal day. Doing our work, taking class, substitutions, serving mid day meals, etc. On Thursday, there was a school assembly and the headmaster announced the prize for our school which we got in the republic day rally. Our school won overall second prize and the first prize for Bharatmata. Headmaster finds time to appreciate the students, teachers and parents as well for bringing up these achievements. On Friday, we finished with the conscientization programme in IX A on the topic waste management.

The students were complaining about the staff that they purposefully switch off all the power supplies in the classroom so that the students have to sit without fans during this climate. The students were getting indiscipline most of the time because they knew we were leaving next week, some students used to say “oru aazhcha kudi sahicha mathiyallo” LOL, the same in our mind also.

For IX, I was continuing with the unit “Proportion” and announced them a test paper on coming Monday. I have completed 38 lesson plans so far. Asked them to submit completed notebooks on coming Tuesday. Completed a total of 4 lesson plans this week.
