Weekly reflection - 05

 WEEKLY REFLECTION

16/01/2023 - 20/01/2023

Another week of teaching practice has come to an end. Actively participated in all school based activities and daily joined for mid day meal serving. Finalized the programme for republic day rally and selected some of the students for ribbon display. Arya and SreehariG helped them with the steps.

On Thursday we distributed the gifts for the poster making competition on the topic 'yuvathavum lahariyum' held on National Youth Day. The headmaster distributed a packet of crayon as second prize and a packet of color pencil as first in the school assembly.
During substitutions, we helped students to do yoga postures mainly sun salutations. Students happily repeated what was shown to them.

For IX A, the chapter 'Prism' comes to an end. I had taken the last topic of the unit. As it is simple for them to understand, directly enter the problem section. Frequently asked them to repeat the formulas for clarity and get familiar with the formulas. One class was completely taken for revision on the unit. Checked their notebooks and homeworks so far. Prepared questions for diagnostic test on the unit 'Prism' and given the same to our optional teacher for review. Wednesday I entered the next unit 'Proportion', and completed 30 lesson plans so far. I planned to conduct a diagnostic test on Thursday and due to the lengthy assembly, I didn't get enough time to conduct the exam and postponed it to the next day.

The diagnostic test was conducted for them on Friday, provided them printed question papers and asked the to write what they know from the chapter so far and after checking the paper I found out that students have confusion in the equations of 'Area' and 'Perimeter', most of them used area instead of perimeter and vice versa. So I have to make sure they get the equations correctly and I have to revise the unit, especially the equations in the coming day.
